Prominence was engaged by a public sector agency to design and deliver a veteran centred engagement process to inform policy and program decisions relating to Defence-connected communities. The agency wanted to turn lived experience into practical insights while maintaining trust and psychological safety.
We worked closely with veteran groups, community organisations and officials to co‑design engagement activities that were culturally informed and trauma aware. This included tailored facilitation approaches, careful sequencing of topics and clear processes for using and protecting participant input.
Our team integrated qualitative stories and quantitative data into transparent, evidence- based narratives that could be used in policy development. Draft findings were tested with participants and stakeholders to validate interpretation and ensure accuracy. The engagement produced policy ready insights that reflected the complexity of veteran and community experiences while remaining grounded and actionable. It strengthened trust between the agency and stakeholders and provided a model for future high‑trust engagement on sensitive Defence‑related topics.
